We are avid enthusiasts of our valley’s mineral hot springs for the many health benefits they deliver. Our very first edition of Desert Health in 2011 featured the second annual Miracle Hill Spa Tour, and in 2023, we published a special insert, “Hidden Gems of Desert Hot Springs.”

Explore The Spring and Two Bunch Palms on the Spa Tour Wellness Weekend.

Miracle Hill is where you’ll find the collection of spas and resorts in DHS centered around the healing richness of the geothermal aquifer. Only on Miracle Hill can you experience the silky-smooth, completely odorless mineral water, rich in calcium, magnesium, silica, lithium, potassium and hundreds of trace minerals. This unique blend creates an exceptional, healing and rejuvenating experience that has drawn hot water enthusiasts from around the globe for decades.

With the focus on thermal therapies as a worldwide wellness trend, the historic area has experienced a renaissance with many properties reimagined and renovated into boutique retreats. Now is the perfect time to experience them firsthand as the exclusive tour of these retreats returns after a ten-year hiatus.

Hope Springs architectural mystique

This year’s Miracle Hill Spa Tour & Wellness Weekend is bigger and better than ever. The tour takes place on Thursday, January 29, from 3 – 7 p.m., and features 15 unique properties from iconic treasures like Two Bunch Palms and El Morocco Inn, to newcomers like The Good House, Acres Landing Airstream glamping and architectural gem, Hope Springs Resort.

Friday through Sunday features a variety of immersive experiences from complimentary wellness lectures and events to promotionally priced classes, day passes and spa treatments. A select number of properties are also offering room rate specials.

Presented by the Miracle Hill Spas Association in collaboration with the City of Desert Hot Springs, the Spa Tour offers the rare opportunity to tour multiple facilities, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages at select locations, meet spa professionals, and learn about the healing benefits of the area’s world-famous mineral waters.

Wellness classes at Miracle Manor

Guests may enjoy the VIP Package, including coach transportation to all locations, a spa robe, an exciting swag bag, and a special VIP after-party at Azure Palm Resort & Spa. The self-guided tour includes a pass and map to explore at your leisure that day. All guests will meet at Cabot’s Pueblo Museum to either board the coach bus or receive the map and lanyard.

A nourishing meal at Azure Palm Resort & Spa

All ticketed tour guests will have access to the Spa Tour Wellness Weekend, and the opportunity to enjoy the mineral springs via resort day passes and the immersive activities being offered. Events include mindfulness, yoga and meditation sessions, a juice cleanse seminar, a sound bath on land at Miracle Manor and a full moon floating sound bath at Azure Palm. Some activities are included with ticket purchase, and others are offered at promotional prices.

“The Spa Tour was a regional favorite for many years, and we’re thrilled that the Miracle Hill Spa Association is bringing it back with even more ways for people to connect with our unique wellness culture,” said DHS Mayor Scott Matas. “Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime fan, this event is your passport to the restorative magic of our mineral waters and spa traditions.”

Relaxing at The Good House

Miracle Hill is one of the few places in the world with both hot and cold mineral springs. The therapeutic benefits of the waters were first assessed in 1937, and the composition of essential minerals is among the best in the world. Immersing in the high concentration creates a hydrostatic pressure, calming and nourishing mind and body.
